Deregistering in the Netherlands
If you stay abroad for more than eight months within a year, you deregister with your municipality. You can do this from five days before departure.
Living in France
As an EU citizen you do not need a residence permit. If you stay longer than three months, you need to work, study or have sufficient resources and health insurance.
Your car
Once you live in France, you apply for a French registration certificate, the certificat d'immatriculation, within one month. You do this online through the ANTS or at an approved garage.
Low-emission zones
Paris, Lyon and other cities have a zone à faibles émissions. Your car needs a Crit'Air sticker there, also with a foreign number plate.

Parking and loading at the new address
For the moving truck you request a permit to use the public road from the mairie. Many municipalities want the request at least two weeks in advance. During the survey we agree who submits it.
From France to the Netherlands
We drive the route in both directions. If you move from France to the Netherlands, you register with your new municipality within five days of arrival if you stay longer than four months.
