What you arrange yourself when moving to Spain

Deregistering in the Netherlands
If you stay abroad for more than eight months within a year, you deregister with your municipality. You can do this from five days before departure.
Certificado de registro
If you stay longer than three months, you apply for a certificado de registro de ciudadano de la Unión within three months of arrival. You do this at the Oficina de Extranjería or the police in your province.
Padrón
Everyone who lives in Spain registers in the padrón, the residents' register of the ayuntamiento where they live.
Your car
As a resident of Spain you register your car on Spanish plates with the DGT within 30 days.
Low-emission zones
Spanish municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants must introduce a zona de bajas emisiones. Madrid and Barcelona have one. The rules for foreign number plates differ per city.

Parking and loading at the new address
Many Spanish municipalities require a permit from the ayuntamiento to load and unload a moving truck on the street. During the survey we agree who submits the request.
From Spain to the Netherlands
We drive the route in both directions. If you move from Spain to the Netherlands, you register with your new municipality within five days of arrival if you stay longer than four months.
